Our aim is to provide a structured review in order to provide you with the best information possible to make a decision on a Hotel. We look at factors that can make or break your Holiday, while at the same time attempting to explain why certain elements of a resort or vacation may be good or bad.
How do you get to the resort? Can you simply Uber, or is it more appropriate to arrange a shuttle. Is a private shuttle more appropriate vs shared? Early morning arrival? We have you covered.
Check in process, required information, room choice and how to ask for extras like pullout beds etc. Checking in with small kids? Where can they play / hang out while waiting to be checked in. Are you able to use facilities even though your room is not ready? (early morning check-ins).
What comes standard in most rooms? How do you ask for service? How often is the room cleaned? What if I need a cot for my baby, or a roll-out? Can you request a pool side room if you have small children?
And most importantly, how is that mattress?
On the service side, we rate the staff, their commitment to service and how they handle difficult situations. Most often than not, it comes down to asking the right person for assistance.
We will also cover resort credits and special celebrations. How do you use the resort credit, what is applicable, and how do you get the most out of the service.
Any additional services provided, such as Spa, Water Sports or Golfing will be reviewed.
Finally, how easy is it to get to services and areas of the hotel. Is transpiration a problem? Are they geared for people with disabilities or with temporary injuries?
You will spend most of your time at the pool or beach, so it better be good! Is it easy to get a lounger in the shade? How is the beach in terms of sand, water and seaweed? Lifeguards, poolside service or other snack / ice cream carts.
For restaurants, we rate buffet vs a-la-carte, making reservations, wait times, wine service, best for kids and overall quality of the dining experience.
Overall, how can you get the most out of your vacation? Where is that secret pool, best breakfast place, or late night snack shop? Should I get up early to reserve a seat at the pool? What is the best time to reserve a restaurant?
Who were the stars of the resort, staff and managers going above and beyond? What is the goal of the resort staff, and how to you use it to make your vacation one to remember.
The aim is never to bash a resort, individual staff members or focus on 1 bad experience, but to think about how you felt the day you left. Were you rested? Did the kids have a good time? Do you want to come back?
